Valid-ictorian

The valedictorian is a prestigious honor that highlights one student's academic achievement as standing out amongst the rest. A single student is chosen every year from the senior class to represent skill unparalleled in an educational environment and Wyatt Napier is certainly deserving of this role. When asked about Wyatt Napier only good things could be heard. Students from across the senior class are ecstatic to hear that Wyatt is our Valedictorian.

“ Wyatt is an incredibly genuine and intelligent human being and his success as valedictorian is well deserved,” said Meridian Joy-Piper.

“ Wyatt always helps out other students when they are struggling and he always takes time to explain things to people and really help them, there is always a smile on his face and he is always partaking in something that will benefit the community,” said Hailey Cannon.

While Wyatt is known for being academically inclined it is important to note that he doesnt let it get to his head. “I don’t think it should take away from anyone else’s hard work, it doesn’t make me better than anyone else or anything. I don’t want to sound like I’m not grateful, just that everyone deserves to be proud of themself,” Wyatt pointed out.

Wyatt is also a dedicated athlete and community member participating in Change the World Kids and the Woodstock Boys Varsity Soccer Team. “I play soccer, lift weights, ski patrol, volunteer through Change the World Kids (which is always looking for more members if anyone is interested), and probably some other stuff that I can’t remember off the top of my head right now,” Wyatt explained.

Wyatt continues to better himself outside of school by creating goals to help him inside of school. “In terms of athletics, I want to be a better soccer player with more technical skill, and I want to be able to lift more weight. More generally though, I want to be more understanding and empathetic as well as eager to help. Everyone will come across a time when they need some help and I want to be there for them to the very best of my ability.”

Wyatt remains incredibly humble despite being awarded the Valedictorian position. To any students who are looking for advice Wyatt says, “It is like what they tell you about standardized testing: you are more than a test score. You are more than this title you aspire to hold; it is more important in my eyes that you enjoy your high school experience as much as possible than some title. You should still try hard and do your best, but remember that this title won’t define you, whether or not you get it.”

Many Valedictorian students go to great colleges and Wyatt is no exception. After being accepted to Boston University this year, Wyatt plans to major in Computer Science which is not surprising to anyone who takes AI. One student commented on Wyatt by saying, “ He’s a genius in AI and is stupid smart.” Wyatt is a great student, peer, community member and athlete. Just ask Meridian Joy Piper who said :“ he should be going to f------ Harvard!”
