Dice for Dungeons

To get 10 gold coins you have to escort a wagon to the other side of the mountain without losing the goods. You are in a party of seven and almost all of you are different races. When the group makes their way down the path and comes across two dead horses, three people of your group approach. When they get to the dead horses, four goblins jump out. What would you do?

This is D&D, or Dungeons and Dragons: a game filled with roleplay and creativity.

You can do almost anything in this game: climb a mountain, swim across a sea, become a hero or a villain, but all your actions are decided by a dice role. The more you play, the better your character gets (better armor, weapons etc).

The game is controlled by the dungeon master (DM) who sets up scenes and makes overall choices.

If the DM feels like there are too many new people they can restart the game. This means that your character might be reset, losing levels and the amount of money they had. If there's only one new person, they could be in a barrel or in something on the side of the road depending on your character’s race (think of a dragon, giant or Orc that would not fit in a barrel). If the character can't fit into a barrel, then they might have to be in the next town to join the game.

A character's race gives them unique looks and abilities. If you're a drow (elf/human hybrid)you might be able to see better in the dark, your skin could be Grayish black or midnight purple. A dragonborn might have more charisma with orange, blue or green scales. Your character's appearance is all up to you, the player.

If you are interested in D&D you can join the D&D club here at WUHS. The club meets on Wednesdays during the 1st and 2nd ARE times. For more information contact 24watecl@wsesu.net
