Mask Making
My mother, Jennifer Maxham, of Woodstock Vermont has spent the past ten weeks making cloth face masks in an effort to provide protection against the Coronavirus.
As of May 29th, 2020, Jennifer has made 2,374 masks. “The masks are 100% high quality quilt weight cotton, as was recommended by the CDC,” Jennifer said.
Jennifer started making masks because, “there was a need.” She began by donating masks to hospitals including: Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Gifford Hospital, John Hopkins, and various other local agencies.
Jennifer is now selling her masks for $5 each, to cover the costs of supplies, and to support additional donations. Anyone who is interested in masks is welcome to “call, email her, or stop by the house,” Jennifer said. “The masks will be pinned to the fence between approximately 8:30-7:30 on days with good weather.”
“My priority was to donate masks, but people wanted to buy them, so I thought selling some would be okay,” Jennifer said.
Jennifer’s masks are available in three sizes: unisex, extra large, and childrens. You can call her at 802-457-2698.
