Virtual Learning for All
With the Corona Virus on everyone's mind, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the school had a backup plan for the school closure. The first day we can be back will be April 6, 2020.
“There is always a risk for exposure,” Nurse Katie Burke said before the school closure order.
Although usually the elderly and people with immune system disabilities get the Coronavirus there is always a risk involved.
There have been eight reported cases in Vermont and one in Windsor County thus far according to VPR.
“Every school is talking about what it would look like to go online,” said Janet North from the counseling office. School administrators and teachers are working on a digital plan that will be launched Friday.
Even before the Governor’s announcement that schools must close, the school had taken precautions and had cancelled all after school activities for the next two weeks. This includes the Yoh Theater Production ‘As You Like It’ as well as all sports. The Sophomore Shadow Day is postponed until May 13, 2020.
“Like everybody, I’m watching what these reports are… it changes constantly,” Mr. Smail said this morning. The Buzz Club will also be working digitally to get this news out. Stay tuned!
