Friday, January 26th, is the WUHSMS Winter Carnival!
Next Friday, January 26, is the WUHSMS Winter Carnival. The annual festival will take place starting at lunchtime and will continue into the afternoon, including food for sale in the cafeteria from clubs and other organizations and fun activities for students both inside and outside the school.
Activities like fat biking, a snowman-building contest (dependant on the weather, of course), and even the possibility of Human Bowling (Which is exactly what it sounds like—people rolling down the halls towards giant bowling pins. It’s less dangerous than it sounds) are planned.
This year’s Winter Carnival will be slightly different than usual however. This year, because of the recent 7-12 interconnection of the Woodstock Middle and High Schools, the Carnival will be a shared event between the two, the first time that this previously High School event has been opened to the Middle School as well.
On Friday, blocks E and F will run their normal length, with the Middle School going straight to lunch after F block (No advisory!) and the High School going to A.R.E. time as usual. After A.R.E., the High Schoolers who eat first lunch will go to first lunch as usual then to block G, and those who eat second lunch will go to G block and leave at 11:15 to have lunch. At 12:20, Middle Schoolers will be dismissed and put their bags in their Advisory classroom.
Then, at 12:25, all students (and staff) will go to the High School gym for a “Kick-Off Pep Rally” and will get instructions for the rest of the day. After the Carnival, at 2:35, the Middle School students will return to their Advisory to pick up their things and wait for the bell, and the High School students will head to their lockers/G block class (wherever they left their belongings) to get their things.
It should be a fun event, and we look forward to seeing you there, Friday, January 26th!
